The Great Western is Deppers Bridge’s own pub, a short stroll down the lane from the lodge. Expect well-kept ales, generous pub classics and a beer garden that catches the evening sun. It even has a fully working model train track going around the top of the pub!

It’s the easiest first-night plan there is: unpack, wander down, and let someone else do the cooking. Sunday lunch is popular — book ahead in summer and on race weekends.
